Artist Bio

Born in Westminster, CO and raised in the Kansas City area, Marie is a glass artist inspired by her father’s early introduction to the medium. Enamored by the works of other fine artists, designers, and printmakers she earned her BFA from the University of Central Missouri. By employing bold shapes and colors, she channels this passion into creating thought-provoking and balanced designs. Her pieces transcend traditional glass art by incorporating Biblical narratives within abstract forms, inviting viewers to explore themes of hope and faith through a contemporary, spiritual lens.

Statement

In my free-form glass wall sculptures, I explore the synergy of organic shapes and vibrant colors to convey the collective strength of individuals working together. Each piece mirrors the intricate dance of cells uniting to create a more remarkable whole, emphasizing the transformative power of collaboration. Placing these elements side by side, I illustrate how their proximity modifies and shapes one another, reflecting the mutual influence of shared ideas and movements. Through the medium of glass, I seek to capture the essence of collaborative energy, creating a visual narrative of unity and dynamic harmony.
